School of Business Administration Physical Access Notes

The comments on this building are taken in part from the 1991 Access Guide published by the Students with Disabilities Union. We thank them for allowing us to copy their material for this guide. It should be noted that many remodels and improvements have occurred in PSU building in the years since the 1991 Guide. So many of these comments may be some what antiquated. Please bear with us as we update and refine this access tool for our campus. Please send us an e-mail on anything you note that requires correction.


Building Access and Approach:
Accessible entrances on the northwest corner of the building with electric doors, and on the southwest side is a ramped and covered entrance that also has an electric door. These will allow entrance onto the main (second) floor. On the first (lower) floor, at the northeast corner of the building, there is an electric door entrance. All other doors on this first floor are manual doors, and located along the east side of the building (facing SW 6th). On the fourth floor, electric doors on the south side lead out to the skywalk. If followed, this will take the voyager to Parking 1, and across SW Broadway to Smith Memorial Student Union and Neuberger Hall. Also on the fourth floor, electric doors on the north side lead to a skywalk that goes to the University Services Building, and across SW Broadway to Smith Memorial Student Union and Cramer Hall. 

Classrooms and Meeting Rooms:
All classrooms and offices are accessible in this building. There are easy grip door knobs on most of the fifth floor, Rehabilitation Counseling/ Counseling Education Lab Rooms. Table tops are a bit low in most classrooms.

These are located on the northeast side of the corridor. They both are equipped with medium-to-high buttons and Braille.

There are accessible restrooms on all floors. All have adapted facilities, though doors may require strength.
Women's: 127, 225, 327, 425, 527, 625.
Men's: 125, 227, 325, 427, 525, 627.

Special Services:
There are vending machines on the fourth floor in section 404. There are computer labs in the School of Business and in the Media Lab for the School of Education (third floor), IBM and MAC.

Stairs and Handrails:

Telephones: 
There is a medium to high pay phone on the fourth floor, in section 404, and one on the ground level (floor 2) near the entrance facing Montgomery.
