Lincoln Hall Physical Access Notes
1620 SW Park Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97201

The comments on this building are taken in part from the 1991 Access Guide published by the Students with Disabilities Union. We thank them for allowing us to copy their material for this guide. It should be noted that many remodels and improvements have occurred in PSU building in the years since the 1991 Guide. So many of these comments may be some what antiquated. Please bear with us as we update and refine this access tool for our campus. Please send us an e-mail on anything you note that requires correction.
Building Access and Approach:
The main entry doorway is located on the northwest corner on Market Street, has a slight ramp and will allow access to the basement. The second best entry is a tunnel from Cramer Hall (coming from the south) on the third floor (of both buildings). Cramer Hall has no electric door service, but Lincoln Hall does. There is a medium-steep ramp here. There is a third entrance, but it is very cumbersome and requires a lot of patience: coming from the Cramer Hall north side elevator, go down to the sub-basement of Cramer Hall, then to the north through a tunnel that leads to the basement of Lincoln Hall.

Classrooms and Meeting Rooms:
All rooms in this building are accessible. Auditorium (75 Lincoln Hall): Located in the basement and is accessible. Main Stage: This auditorium can be accessed through the first floor. There is no rampway leading to the higher seats. The theater has limited space on the first row for those who use wheelchairs.

Corridors:

Doors and Hardware:

Drinking  Fountains:
All drinking fountains in this building are too high to reach from a wheelchair.

Elevators:
The elevator is located just northeast of the northwest entrance and serves access to all levels of the building. The buttons are easily reachable to call the elevator from the outside, but the inside elevator buttons are quite high.

Offices:

Restrooms:
Restrooms in Lincoln Hall are locked; you must visit a department office to obtain a key for access. All the following have grab bars:

Men's - 28, 150, 350
Women's - 24, 102, 302

Depending on user discretion, some other restrooms may be usable, but have not been modified for wheelchair accessibility.

Special Services:

Stairs and Handrails:

Telephones:

Other:
There is a 30-minute designated disabled loading and unloading zone between Lincoln and Cramer Halls, off SW Broadway, where SW Mill would continue. Also, we have had numerous reports of the elevator getting stuck. Be careful using it during the evening hours.
