Welcome to the website for the Facilities and Planning operations at Portland State University.
Facilities and Planning is a service organization of over 90 skilled technicians, craftsmen, operators,
and support staff charged with the responsibility for operating, maintaining, and improving University buildings,
grounds, utilities, and related services. We literally turn on the lights and open the doors on this campus daily.
While our principle hours of operations are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday, we do maintain a 24-hour presence
on campus to respond to emergencies and requirements that arise after normal hours. We take great pride in ensuring that
students, staff, and faculty members at Portland State University enjoy a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for
living, learning, and working.

Our Vision
Facilities and Planning Services are the most responsive, technically proficient, effective, and efficient team of
employees in the higher education facilities management field. We provide a safe, well maintained campus, accessible
to all populations. We continue to embrace the historic significance of the campus by preserving its character and
beauty while providing a seamless transition in our facilities to the more modern aspects of the twenty-first century.
Through continuously improving our teamwork, communications, and performance, we further and enhance both job and
customer satisfaction, as well as personal growth. Our values, philosophy, and work ethic are the foundation of the
diverse yet united workforce, which supplies our customers with quality service.
